St. Peter's Health Partners is seeking full-time and part-time Neonatal Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join the hospital employed NICU team at St. Peter's Hospital, a 15-bed Level III non-surgical NICU, located in Albany, New York.
With the largest number of births in the region, over 3,000 annually, the hospital hopes that the expansion of APPs will create a higher level of NICU support for families in the area and the best care in the region.
Opportunity highlights include:
- Collaborative provider team lead jointly by Neonatologist and APP leads
- Work/life balance with 12 and 24-hr shifts within a flexible schedule with over 200 hours per FTE of protected time for administrative, QI/PS, and scholarly work
- Help expand definition of APP role in the NICU, and shape the growth of the unit

Opportunity details:
- Staffing Model: 3 FTE Neonatologists, 5 FTE APPs
- APPs are responsible for the following:
- 24/7 In-house coverage
- Collaborative care of the Level III NICU patients with the Neo during the day
- APP in-house at night with Neonatologist on call from home (30-min response time)
- Attendance of high-risk deliveries
St. Peter’s Hospital Info:
- 15-bed Level III NICU; ADC: 12 (can flex up to 22)
- Deliveries: over 3000 per year
- EMR: EPIC
- Ventilation Support: iNO, Oscillator
- Peds Cardiology and Ophthalmology available
- Access to most other pediatric subspecialists via phone consults through nearby Perinatal Regional Center
Requirements for this opportunity include:
- Board Certification
- NYS licensure
- Two to three years of experience is recommended
