Pelorus Elder & Behavioral Health is a boutique Geriatric and Adult Psychiatry private practice. We have 3 outpatient office locations, and numerous skilled nursing and assisted living facility clients where we provide Psychiatric services. Our team presently includes 3 Psychiatrists, 2 PA's, and 2 NP's.
Company History
Established in 2009, Pelorus (recently rebranded from NJ Memory and Behavioral Care) is a boutique private practice founded by Dr. Matthew Barnas - board certified in Geriatric and Adult Psychiatry. Dr. Barnas completed his Geriatric training at Yale University. Some of his past work experiences include being the Associate Director of Geriatric Psychiatry at Overlook Hospital, Chief of Geriatric Psychiatry at Runnells Hospital, and Chief of Geriatric Psychiatry at the East Orange V.A.
Dr Unnati Patel is board certified in Adult Psychiatry. She joined Pelorus in 2014, after being the Director of the Psychiatry Consultation service at RWJ Somerset Medical Center for 5 years. Prior to that she was the Chief Resident of Psychiatry at New Jersey Medical School.
Dr. Ritesh Amin has recently joined Pelorus in the summer of 2017, after completing his Psychiatry residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, the same program that Dr. Barnas and Dr. Patel trained at.
We are a very successful and expanding group, with 2 outstanding PA’s who can vouch for the culture and lifestyle balance that we foster. You will have the full support of 3 Psychiatrists, as well as the collegiality of our PA’s and NP’s as well. We are looking for the right candidate to join our team and share in our continued growth!
